Freeverse Love Song (to the ocean)
I sit alone, in the moment before
the wave crashes.
In the place between places,
Caught in the little death
Between inhale and exhale.
I’m whole, safe in the ocean’s breathing
- cradled. Blues, in the white of her eyes.
Borne on the beats and swell of her breathing
To be held is to be treasured, -
In arms made of seafoam.
I am a man of soil - earth - and stone.
But I belong to her depths.
Of the ocean, I’m it’s loam.
